Our Healthy Dog Meals
All our meals are hand-made. That means no large production facility with machine operators. Our healthy meals are cooked (not raw) fresh each week from scratch. That means no stored food frozen weeks in advance.
Once meals are prepared and cooked, they are immediately cooled and vacuum packed using our commercial sealers. This allows for the meals to be stored refrigerated (for up to 7 days) and frozen (upwards of 3 months) - with absolutely ZERO additives or preservatives.
All natural, all the time!
We use a fantastic selection of meat cuts from our local butchers. We do not settle for left-over cuts of meat. We make sure to use ethically sourced and in most cases better than what we can get at our local supermarkets for human consumption.
Our vegies are bought fresh from local fresh food market suppliers.
And we add a little supplementation of bone meal powder for calcium and a mix of vitamins and nutrients (HHD Vita-mix) which balances each meal.
Some of our meals are a modified version of recipes found in the fantastic book - "The Healthy Dog Cookbook" by Jonna Anne, published by Ivy Press. Happy Healthy Dog has put in a considerable effort to make sure that ingredient quantities have been modified to suit your dog specifically and additional nutrients added to meet the nutrient profile of your dog.
As with most things, there is always a fair debate to all sides of the story. We are not biased one way or the other when it comes to 'dog food' - we simply want the best for your furry companion. Home-cooked meals can be great for dogs, but often when not cooked correctly, they lack important vitamins and minerals, causing deficiencies over time. We make sure that each of our meals meet the exact amount of daily required Vitamins and Minerals for your dog. Our meals are almost perfect by themselves, but we make sure to add special Multivitamins, Calcium, Omega 3 oils to fill in the gaps.
The main factors that determine the size and calories per meal of your dog is the weight and age. The other things we take into consideration is your dog's activity levels too! There is a universal algorithm (equation) that helps calculate the healthy amount of calories per meal based on these variables. In consultation with Vets and Canine experts, we use this widely accepted concept for sizing our meals.When you checkout, we ask for these inputs.

At Happy Healthy Dog we have made a lot of effort to ensure that our meals meat the right dietary and nutritional requirements to maintain great health in all dogs. We have followed a number of nutritional advice including:
• - Meeting the recommendations made by the National Research Council (NRC) whom published the 'Nutrient Requirements of Dogs and Cats' publication - widely used by Canine experts around the world
• - The Nutrient Profiles for Adult Maintenance stated by AAFCO (Authorisation of American Feed Control Officials). These outline min. and in some cases max. amounts of Crude Protein, Fat, various Minerals and Vitamins a dogs diet should include. We have sent all our meals for lab testing to prove that our meals meet these standards
• - We have conducted actual lab tests and dog food trials
Delivery

We deliver to NSW, QLD and VIC

We will do our best to make sure we can get to you - where ever you are!
In the checkout section, you may specify where we may leave your meal box if you are not at home for delivery.
We can be very flexible with delivery address and location.
We have teamed up with a great chilled courier company who understand the importance of customer service just as much as we do.
If you live in an apartment without a concierge, please outline when you may be home to collect your delivery in the checkout section.
Our meals come in an insulated cold box! So you do not have to worry about your meals overheating. They are designed to keep your meals fresh and chilled until you are home to collect.
If you need to change your delivery address, you can do so easily through your My Account page. Deliveries will automatically be re-routed to your new elected address for your very next delivery!
And if you are going to be away. You can pause your meals being delivered. Head to your My Account page to see all your options.
You can also action the above by simply emailing or calling us too.
If you place your order before Saturday midnight, you can be assured that you will receive you freshly cooked meals the following week.
Deliveries are usually on Thursdays, we prepare, cook and pack our meals over Monday - Wednesday.
Different meal plans will result in different ongoing deliveries - some may get a delivery every 2 weeks, others may get their meal box every 4,6 or 8 weeks. This just depends on how much food you order!
You can find out how often your meal plan subscription will be delivered when you select your meal plan option.
Not too long ago we did collect all our boxes. However, it is no longer possible to do so - maybe again in the future, but we will let you know if that changes.
For now, both our boxes and woolen insulation are 100% recyclable. You may re-use our ice-packs or dispose of them as you see fit.

We offer fresh, quality, healthy meals for a very affordable price. These are your loved family members right? So why shouldn’t you spend as much as a coffee per meal for your dog?

The trial pack is a once-off payment.
Meal plans are billed according to how often your delivery is made. If you are on a 2 week meal plan - then you will be charged on the Friday / Saturday before delivery week. And this will repeat every 2 weeks.
We accept credit / debit cards and use a secure e-commerce facility. So rest-assured your payment details remain secure.
Yes! Any time you want. Go to your My Account page, and you may cancel through there. Or you may call us on 0492 966 805. Or you may email notify us at support@happyhealthydog.com.au.
If you are a meal plan subscriber, we require 1 weeks courtesy notice of cancellation or pausing. Essentially all orders are finalised by midnight Saturday of each week. We reserve the right to not provide a refund if you cancel within 1 week of your next delivery.
Yes! You may suspend / pause your meal plan at any time. You can do so through you My Account portal. But please remember to provide us 1 weeks courtesy notice before pausing any meals.
Important: You may only pause your meal plan for maximum of 1 month. If you wish to pause for longer, you must contact us by email at support@happyhealthydog.com.au and we can arrange for a longer pause. If you pause / suspend your meal plan for over 1 month and do not let us know, we will begin to bill you at your prior rate.
